In picture postcard conditions the St. Ignatius College Riverview commenced the 2009/10 Summer Six a Side Soccer Tournament. The lush Riverview grounds with a harbour & city backdrop provided the perfect setting, however some found it difficult to appreciate the conditions.

Seven unanswered goals to the Riverview #2 team has launched them to the top of the Div 2 table while the 360s have continued their previous season's good form with five unanswered goals.

In other results the St Michaels # 6 team were happy to start their season with a nil all draw against the skillful Northbridge Tigers.

Match Rules

Here is a couple of rules that maybe of interest to you.

Passing to the keeper

Passes are allowed back to the goal keeper and the goal keeper is permitted to pick up these passes. Again the goal keeper cannot throw or kick the ball (from his hands or the ground) over the half way line on the full.

Off Side

The off side rule is NOT to be used. However deliberately placing a player or players in an off side position is contrary to the spirit of the game and is discouraged.
