Welcome to 2011!
Welcome to the first newsletter for the 2011 season. Hopefully everyone had a safe Christmas and New Years, even though members have been affected by the floods. 2011 is set to be a better season with the rebuilding of the club moving along quickly after the horrids of 2010. The club has a new committee on board for 2011 and have already begun securing sponsors for 2011 and beyond. Don't forget to view the newly designed Alloway FC website at www.allowayfc.asn.au. We Need Your Help!
Following
the devasating floods that have affected large parts of Queensland, the
Qantas Socceroos that are competing at the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011
have signed a playing shirt to help raise money for the Queensland
Premier's Diaster Relief Appeal.
We
invite the football community to help the communities of Queensland to
rebuild their lives after the recent devastating floods.
100% of the proceeds from this auction will go towards the Premier's Disaster Relief Fund (Ref T11/706)
Even
if you are not successful with a bid you can still donate to the
Premier's Disaster Relief Fund. For more information, please visit http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/donate.html
Donations
collected by the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal will be disbursed to
the people affected by flooding in Queensland Communities in December
2010 and January 2011.

successful donor/bidder may request a receipt, but will be required to
provide the Queensland Government with a list detailing the donor's
name, address and donation amount. The Queensland Government will then
send a receipt directly to the donor.

A
big thanks goes to all Alloway members that helped in dealing with the
flooding that hit Bundaberg and surrounding areas. A big thankyou also
goes to Scott and Jo Lister who are part of the local S.E.S in
Bundaberg. Without these guys a lot of people would not have been able
to evacuate their homes or help save them from the impending flood
waters.
Scott was describing the height of the water which was so
close to the Railway and Traffic bridges that you would have been able
to stand and touch it from a boat on the water.
Credit goes to these people and the whole of Alloway FC and Bundaberg is behind you.
A BIG pat on the back and a job more then well done.

organising a fundraising day with proceeds to go to flood victims.

Club Open Day!!!
An open day will be held at Alloway Country Club on the 30th January, anyone interested in joining Alloway are welcome to attend.
Junior Sign On
A joint junior sign on will be held at Martens Oval on the 6th February starting at 2pm.
CLUB’S
MAJOR FUNDRAISING
Every
second Friday night commencing 6pm our Club runs a Goose Club at the Alloway
Country Club. We desperately need your
support as this is currently our Club’s main source of income. If you are able to help sell tickets even if
it’s once every 6 weeks, it would be a great help. It is a fantastic way of getting to know
other people within the club and also spending time with your family by having
a meal!
A Goose Club date reminder will be put on the Alloway Football Club website to view. We would love to see you there!
