Curl Curl U10 Division 4 VS Seaforth: 24th April 2010
The Curl Curl team fronted up on a beautiful April day to the mysteriously-located Tristram pitch for a game with Seaforth.
The first half got off to a great start, with our boys dominating and keeping the play in Seaforth's half for about 90% of the time. Our goalie, Maxime, only touched the ball once.
Darcy and Callum showed good defence and passing, Cole made some excellent crossings from the wing whilst Mitch did some great passing from centre back.
Further on Lucas did some solid pasing in midfield and Will made two spirited attempts at goal, while James managed to dribble up to the goal mouth and made another close attempt.
Despite good passing, defence and playing positions well, the goals eluded us. Seaforth maintained a strong defence with many players clustered around the goal area.
Seaforth regrouped and came on the attack during the second half, but Curl Curl's defence was solid on most occasions. There was great attacking play from James and Callum and Cole did a superb tackle close to the goal mouth.
James almost created a goal with a quick throw into Callum and Darcy made a very close attempt on a goal late in the second half. Finally Callum scored the first goal of the match.
Jasper provided some great clearance from the Curl Curl goal area but despite that, Seaforth also scored, leaving the game a draw at 1-1.

Curl Curl U9 Cheetahs VS Mosman Cheetahs
What a great game. Fantastic teamwork will always beat individual brilliance. Take out their big kid from Mosman & we run riot.
Great to see so much positive encouragement from our parents for both our team and Mosman's. It's very pleasing when the opposition clap when your side scores. They picked up the vibe from the Curly parents very early and I am sure every parent from both teams there today enjoyed the game equally.
A great big welcome for Louis, well done. No 1st game jitters there.
All of our players were outstanding today.
Very well deserved player of the week being Luke Palmer who was everywhere and showed some great defence, great passing skills and good attack. Coming back from a heavy knock to the thigh and cutting off plenty of Mosmans raids in the 2nd half.
Our defence was fantastic with Braede and Caitlin showing the way. Closely followed by Tom and Andrew in the 1st half and Dylan and Brendan in the 2nd.
Special mention to our goalies who both did very well, Brendan in the 1st half and Lachy in the 2nd. Those goals are SO BIG this year.
Our mid field and forward line worked very well together, lead up front brilliantly by Tremayne scoring 2 goals, Nathaniel who had 3 of his shots saved, Sean who was everywhere and shows neat passing skills, Tom & Luke being in the oppositions face and Andrew taking on the big fella several times and winning.
Go the Mighty Cheetah's
