Hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend - even though we had a lot of soccer in between !!!!!!!!
This weekend we have the club photos on SATURDAY (19/6/10) down at
George Kendall, your team manager has all the details, so please ask
them .

Two of our loyal fans
|
The most important thing to
remember is being "punctual" - Dugald has
alotted timeslots according to game schedules on the day,
and if we
have to wait for players, this will cause unnecessary delays
and
possibly your son or daughter missing their team photo,
which would be
disappointing.
We are now up to Round 11 this weekend which means we have 8
rounds left for all teams - remembering that SSG do not play FINALS.
We have a number of
competitive teams in contention for the finals ,so we wish them luck
over the coming weeks.
Finally, the soccer committee have a meeting next Tuesday,
and we will
decide on a new date for the "barefoot bowls" day then - so
stay tuned
!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your soccer on the weekend -and stay smiling during
your team photo.
Cheers
Wayne. |

Round 10 - Saturday
Under 6C Vs St John’s B (5-0)

Only one more to beat
|
The freezing temperature of 9 degrees at George Kendall did not deter the Under 6C in showing their passion for the game. William was feeling very cold initially but after a good warm up with his team, ended up playing a good game. Sam & Gracie put their best defense play and stopped the other team from scoring. Sam’s big kicks and Gracie’s focus was a good mix for defense. In this game, Isa demonstrated another good skill he is developing and that’s ball control with excellent passes. He made a lot of passes to Thomas who was in his best form and never gave up in pursuing the ball. Thomas was a bit unlucky at the first half of the game with some shots missing the goal but he found his momentum as the game progressed and he ended up scoring all the goals for Ermo. Another excellent team play for the Under 6C!

U10/5's make a break
|
U10/5 v Norwest Win 2-0
The players came out firing due to the missed round and scored early. Then the teams settled with an even display of attacking and defence. The last 10 minutes we kept the pressure on and their goalie to his credit saved some great shots. With seconds to go a well constructed team goal was the reward for consistence
U12/5 v Wenty Draw 1-1
Wenty have only had 3 goals scored against them this year and all by us
over 2 games. There was tension in the air over this top of the table
clash and the game lived up to expectations. It was a game of movement
with each team looking for a way past strong defense, Wenty scored first
an unlikely goal with the ball in the mud slipping through the keepers hands.
The boys kept their heads up and began looking to pass, looking to take
players on working for each other, it comes with experience and heaps of
practice and failure to know when to let the ball go and not take on
the whole team, it's about timing and angles. Our goal was a beauty and
well taken with good lead up and commitment to finish. Everyone tries
hard every game as best they can, always strive to do one thing better
every game, the greatest part of your body playing soccer is between
your ears, use it. A good game by all. Well done.
U14/2 v St Michaels Baulkham Hills Win 7 - 1
Great game had by all. Our defense was strong Blake, Nathan, Tim and Tharlon held on tight and we attacked with great fight. We occasionally had gaps where we didn’t get back into position but overall we were a hard team to beat. We well and truly led in the first half with goals going to Jacob D scoring in the first few minutes followed by the three C’s, Conor Cameron and Corey. In the second, Conor scored from the corner and Corey scored his second for the game, the next goal was set up by the amazing Jake and followed through by Max who had just come out of goals. Congrats boys keep up the good work.
O35/3 v Toongabbie Loss 2-4
Dugald flying High

We lost the toss and lost the game, the boys wanted to win every game while Spencer was in South Africa, but it's not to be.
George went into the forwards to make Adam look good, it didn't work, Frank was back from a busted arm running everywhere,
Angelo was making friends with all the Toongabbie players (Invites all round for BBQ at his place). Our keeper was watching TV, anyone know where we can get a good one at this time of year. Who has got Pete's jewels? Luigi made a comeback to this team and scored a goal, one more and you are leading the goal score. The half time talk again went well with everyone taking notice and working to the game plan. In truth you all played well with no luck, it will come.
Saturday O35/6 v Kellyville Win 2-0
Slow start against the team that beat us in the 1st round but big improvement by all the players in the 2nd half with communication being a key factor. A well deserved goal from Christo showing us that his strict exercise reign is paying off. Boofa scoring the second and keeping his record of scoring in every game in tacked.
Round 9 - Monday
U10/5 v Winston Hill Win 1-0
Still in the winning spirit the team showed they are learning how to play together and importantly not to give up. This team has grown in skill and determination since losing in the early round games to winning the last three rounds. Well done team and keep improving those skills and winning ways.
U12/5 v Pendle Hill Loss 1 - 2
Pendle Hill taught us a lesson in the first half with two goals against us.
We as a team on the field worry about things we cannot control.
When you are a team everyone needs to do their job and help each other to get into positions to limit the opposition from scoring and to get ourselves into position to score.
I thought you all played very well even though we where down 2 -0 at halftime. With a rev up at halftime we won the second half with a fine goal, with great build up and excellent finishing a team goal. The passing today in patches was outstanding, but ball control is still something that requires work. You all worked hard and never gave up, but as you all saw today we have to work harder and smarter to win this comp. It was a very good game today against hard competition and part of me is happy that we finally lost one at this part of the season, put your heads back on and lets get smart. Think about your game and ways to improve. Well done to everyone.
U14/2 v Wentworthville Win 4 - 0
A good win with some fine examples of team work and some great defense.
Great to see JD on the park making his mark on the game.
3 goals to Conor -results of some of that fabulous teamwork, and a cracking goal from Tim.
You all have a lot to bring to the game be it in attack or defense.
Keep the teamwork going through the whole game, keep focused and keep enjoying the game, well done.
O35/3 v Kellyville White Win 1-0
Lost the toss won the game. It makes a change, the second win of the year.
News flash Adam scored. George again was up the front shooting at goal from all angles. Pete found his jewels and wanted to have a new friend from Kellyville over for drinks. Lets hold off looking for a keeper for a week, he saved a penalty so we cannot get rid of him yet. Ray and Dennis wanted a closer look at the grass so they both had a bit of a lay down. Good to have the support from the sidelines.
Monday O35/6 v Pendle Hill Win 2-0
We needed to beat the undefeated top of the table team to keep us in the top four. Although most players were stiff and sore from Saturday’s game we started with a bang, going from the kick off we had a shot at goal past the keeper that was then blatantly handballed out of the goal mouth. Lance drilled the penalty past the keeper and we kept the pressure on. Lance also scored the next with a low curly ball in the corner. This was a deserved win with great communication and consistent hard football. Our goalie with the golden hands Spud kept his sheet clean for the fourth consistent game but unfortunately Boofa’s record will now stand at scoring in nine consecutive games. Great game guys.
