	Ermington United Dribble 18th July 2012 Official Newsletter of Ermington United Committee Update Not sure if there is much to say this week. We are closing on the end of the rounds with only 3 more weeks after this weekend. Lots of our teams are looking like they are close to being in the semis so results over these last few weeks will be crucial. Good luck to everyone for the next 4 games. Lets see how many teams we can get in the semis this year!! Round 14 Draw Round 14 Roster Saturday Results Sunday Results U6A v Newington Another good showing by our littlies. We had lots of running but unfortunately not enough of it was back to cut off the opposition with the exception of Levi who was always the one defending. Our girls seemed to be short of some sleep this week but still had a great time in the middle of the pack. Thomas made a few good runs and had plenty of banter, although most, read all, of it was directed towards the coach. Ansh is improving each week and is getting more confident in the pack. Our Player of the match this week was Hamish for his constant effort an our only goal. U8A v Parra city We always have a hard game against Parra and today was no exception, although after being on school holidays for a couple of weeks the team was raring to go. We were down to only one sub so not much time on the side line. But everybody put in fantastic performances, and almost scored a couple on the break but unfortunately Parra managed to block all attempts and score a few goals themselves. After a hard fought match it was a tough job deciding player of the match with everybody putting in a great performance but edging the out the others by a nose for a great first half in goal, and following it up with an outstanding game in the outfield was Cameron. U9 v Winston Hills 2-0 This week we played Winston Hills at home. Returning after injury we had Zoe in the team for her first game in a couple of months and she was super keen to play. Great to have you back Zoe ! The first half was all Ermington and even though we had plenty of shots at goal we were unable to land one. Half time score.......... Nil all The momentum changed in the second half and the opposition scored twice with the final score 2-0. The parents enjoyed a close match and the 9's are playing good footy. Choc crackles at full time was enjoyed by the team. P.O.M........Zoe U12/3 Ermo 2 Lidcombe 1 We were lucky to get away with this one. We played well in patches and our defence was strong as usual.Ethan came out of goals in the second half and scored a great goal. U12/3 Ermo 5 St Michael's 0 We really needed this win to lift us up the points table.We are now 4th.Everyone played well and the goals started to flow.Great passing between backs ,midfield and the strikers were lining up to finished it off.We need to play this well when we meet the teams above us on the ladder.This week we have Granville who we drew 2 all with last game. U14/3 v V's Wenty Waratah 5-2 Loss At this age a couple of bigger faster players makes a difference and thats all it is, take those players out of Wenty and it would be an even contest. When your passing and control game is working, things will work for you, no one is faster the ball. As usual nobody gave up, and fought hard until the end, with some nice ball movement and movement of players, we at times stretched the Wenty defence. Although this team may not have won many games this year, almost all the games have been a good contest. Lets work hard for the rest of the season and see how lucky we get. O35/6 v Winston Hills 2-0 Win In what was possibly our best half of football this year we where two goals up thanks to some fine finishing from Tony and Richies was O.K too. At the back the defence was relentless with the 18 wheeler coming up with a new dance move to save a goal, he didn't didn't know where his legs and arms where going but with some help from George no goal was scored. In the second half Winston Hills threw all they had at the goals but with everybody showing great determination and a desire to win it was a great relief to hear the final whistle. It was good to see Lorenzo at the game with his busted wing but with a smile on his face. As before lets keep working there is still a long way to go. Another win without Bill. AAL4 v Holroyd Loss 5-2 We had big hopes after winning the last 2 games and though the 1st half was 0-3 with some soft goals the team kept trying but the passes and our timing was wrong. Truly a game of two halves with the team pouring on the pressure and ramping up the ball chasing.
