U6C v Dundas
Another tremendous effort from our little champions. Unfortunately we cam up against a budding superstar in the Dundas 6A’s who proceeded to slide tackle Lucus to thwart our best opportunity for a goal. Lucas had great game and had several good runs. Georgia also came close to a goal with a run that split Dundas in half. As usual Levi had a smile on his face the whole game and was an ever present force at the back. Claire got stuck into the opposition with so forceful tackles. Eva and Luke must have run about 20km in the 30 mins of our game. Well done to our ever improving soccer superstars!!
U10-5 v Castle Hill United Win 8-0
With the other team short of players it would have been easy to get excited about scoring and forget about structure. Today the team showed some huge improvements by staying in their positions and looking to support or pass to other team mates. Jarod again showed his confidence in goals and scored in the 2nd half. Joel and Josh played their part in the win by keeping in position. Fraser scored his first goal for the season and was unlucky not to make a second.
Jack had an all-round good game and when in goals showed some extra talent. Elie and Jacob work well together in both attack and defence with Jacob adding to his goal tally. Emily in her first season is improving and growing in confidence with each game. Sebastian received another achievement award for his defending. Our main goal scorer Jonathan received an achievement award for the good passing game he is developing. Gabriella received the P.O.M for a great mid field and defender role that she played with enthusiasm.
12/4 v Kellyville Loss 2-1
We went down in a nail biting game on Saturday. In a game with 2 penalty shots awarded, Ermington were unlucky to come out with a loss. Daniel scored a fabulous goal on a penalty shot and at the other end of the field, Nakita had a stand out game in the net and made some fantastic saves, including one from the spot. With some fabulous defence from Bree, Nicholas and Dominic, ably assisted by Jesse, Lachlan and Joe, we were able to keep the pressure on a much bigger Kellyville team. Troy and Jordan both had great games, creating some space up front. Jeffrey was our player of week, showing true team spirit with some relentless defense despite being unwell. Well done everyone!
13/4's V's Dundas Draw 1-1
Another early game, and as last week it took a while for us to wake up. The score didn't reflect our dominance of the game and the amount of shots we had. The Dundas keeper was very good and he kept them in the game. As a team we worry a lot, last week we worried about each other, this week we worried about what Dundas were doing. With a slippery wet ball our passing game took a battering as well as our personal ball control. The defence today was again as always working hard, we have to against quick forwards make our minds up pretty quick and act it is very hard to defend against pace. We are still looking for each other which is excellent, the players off the ball have to own the space and promote themselves with movement. I think this was a better game for everyone than last week and it showed yet again what a great team of fighters you are. This would have to be close to the best team in Ermo.
Well done. Goal Zac.
35/5's Vs Baulkham Hills Loss 2-1
We cannot seem to climb the mountain and get the ball in the back of the net, although we never
stop trying Richie our sweeper is the leading goal scorer now with 2, with George claiming the set up touch that allowed Rich to score, Last week the goals leaked down the right side this week was the lefts turn, with the poor keeper left with no hope. We started with 9 due to I don"t know what and began the game working hard on a hot day. Two nil down at half time and a half time breather saw us come out on fire and win the second half, although Paul tried to score for them with the hardest back pass I have ever seen. Our goal came from Peter at left back with twinkle toes beating three and putting the ball through the middle and the magic touch from George end of story. Denis with the flu still lingering ran all day. Peter missed a sitter in front, Floyd had his usual game, in today’s game the angry ants both received cards and the look of "what did I do" is priceless. Any Anger management techniques will be welcome. Thanks to Frank for still turning up even though he has not played a game yet.
035-6 v Kellyville Win 1-0
What a great game we played, everyone contributed and did their part. It was a tightly fought game against an equal opponent who also played hard but fair. We were well aware if we gave them an opportunity they would take it, so we marked close and with constructive communication kept any gaps closed. Great effort by Spud with cat like reflexes , the Sun in his eyes he reached high and knocked out a certain goal. This is the sort of game that puts a smile on all our faces and keeps you coming back for more. Hard to pick a Player of the Match as so many gave an all out effort, so congratulations Dominic.

Once again we find ourselves at the start of a new season of soccer at Ermington United.
As you can appreciate clubs are run on the support of its members and volunteers whether a player, supportive parent, team coaches, team managers, committee members and we thank you all very much for that support.
Another way that we could help support our club is by way of sponsorship. our Ermington United Sponsorship Opportunities 2011 brochure is attached below for you to present to your employer or your own business, in the hope they may be looking to advertise that business locally.
Thanks again for your continued support of the Ermington United Club in the past and in the future and I hope you all have a great soccer season in 2011.
