U10-5 v Wenty Waratahs Win 4-2
The confidence is growing with the team and individual players.
We missed our star goalie today but Jacob did a great job filling in,coming out when needed.
C-back:Joel kept control in the back and is a quick learner. R-back:Josh is showing his speed and intercepts well.
L-back:Sebastian did what he was asked and is a real team player.
Stopper: Nejt was everywhere.
R-mid: Emily is giving her best whilestill learning the game.
C-mid: Jonathan was on fire today scoring all the goals, either a long range shot or a memorable run from half way through 7 opponents and around the goalie.
L-mid: Gabriella did the tough but necessary job of marking their gun player and to her credit he did not score.
R-forward: Elie relished the chance to score and took anyopportunity but also defended well.
C-forward: Fraser had the backs guessing and used his dribbling skills well.
L-forward: Jack reads the game, positions himself well and passes nicely.
Seb, Ella and Jacob received an achievement award for their outstanding play and Jon received the P.O.M for a great mid field role and super dribbling skills.
The team is coming together at the right time, so lets keep doing those little things right and the results will come.
13/4 V's Castle Hill Loss 3 - 1
Its starting to become a long season. Our guys are still trying hard and the effort is still there for little result.
This year has been a hard learning year after coming up a grade, we have been competitive for most of the year and every game has been hard fought. With this game we again showed glimpses of what we are capable of, it just needs a little step up, with our ball control and ownership for us to be a major force. There is not that much wrong.
Lets enjoy what is left of the season, another good team effort.
P.S. The lolly lady told me forcefully that lollies at half time would bring us a win, The halftime talk didn't matter as long as the lollies where eaten. Any dentists out there.
35/5 V's Greystanes Loss 9-0
Another 10min and it would have been 9 all as we where coming home strong we had them on the ropes. The goals they scored just summed up our season, with every wobbly bounce of the ball or miss kick in the back of the net. The end of the season is in sight we haven't dropped our bundle yet lets keep going and make them fight for their points. With another game Sunday lets hope we are fit and rested ready to go. My Nanna plays better than the keeper.
35/5 V's Castle Hill R.S.L Loss 4-1
A new day a new game same result, the effort put in today was outstanding and it is a shame the rewards don't come our way.
For the 1st 15 minutes we made them work and look for options that weren't there and then a silly goal gave them a boost and then it was a different game. For a team coming last we do ok better teams then us have come last and dropped their heads, lost the plot and fell apart we have not done that. This is a good team in the wrong grade. Lets stay positive for the rest of the year. Nothing today about the keeper.
035-6 v North Rocks Win 3-0
The score is a reflection of the good defence we have developed through great communication and the commitment from individual players to not give up and support the team when needed. Perry, Dom, Mick and Fordy combined well and carved up the mid section. Fordy scoring two greatindividual goals dribbling around the backs and past the goalie. Christo isgetting ever closer to scoring again and has discovered he has a bit of speed now. From a corner Boffa standing in the middle of 5 defenders amazed all with a deft side kick deflecting into the back of the net with not one defender or the goalie moving!! Absolutely Marvellous! Still it’s the defensive foundation described as big, mobile, crafty and sometimes skillful of Ando, Hillsy, Enzo, Steve and Gino with Spud in goals that makes a tough line to break and pressure the other teams. Still a veryclose comp and our position on top needs to be protected.
AAL5 v Castle Hill loss 0-4
Play time against team no. 1 in the comp... hard as expected but nothing can break our candy stripers spirit!!!
Enzo - thanks once again for your ever encouraging words on the sideline, we all love being abused by you sowhen you try to be mean, it doesn't actually work. Shauna - team paparazzi...we love seeing photos of ourselvesso many thanks! Irene - I heard you came to visit, although didn't get to see you :( thanks for coming and showing your support!!! Renai - covered the length of the entire field in every position, give us a A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!!
Kylie - please refrain from running 10km before a game (I’m just jealous) but you held up well through the rest of the match!
TB - well done at ur first attempt at that position, you were kicking goal kicks then like flash Gordon, you were upat the net trying to score! Emma and Jane - fast aggressive forwards, your skills are amazing and you may have gotmore attacks in if we weren't down players :( sorry. Pecky - great sideline defence and you worked well with Jane against that chick that kept creeping down the sideline, love your work and your dedication even when on call. Rach - took some hard hits and you've got a mean kick on you! great goal keeping assistance to nards...Nic - forward/mid playing, good job at covering the entire width of the field, your skills from training showed big time in the game. good canteen assistant. Nards - again, team motivator! when all the girls were in the goals readyto kill each other, you were the one telling us to smile about rainbows and lollypops, you are a great support! good canteen assistant Steph - amazing goal scorer for the other side. all jokes aside, good assistance with Nadia in the goals. great bbq skills.
Alright guys, we've put the weekend behind us and we know we have to look forward to a big couple of busy weeks of making up some serious ground. Our improvement is obvious with the declining difference in scores when we play these girls second time around... our most important focus is that we need as MANY girls as we can get at our next couple of games...there is only about 2.5 weeks left and 4 games to go and participation is crucial. When all else fails, just imagine the huge party that we are gonna have at the end of the season.
