Welcome to another soccer season !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All our junior and senior teams kick off this week -my apologies our two ladies teams did start last Sunday (AAL4 had a 3-2 win with 8 players, and our new team AAL5 had a 0-7 loss)
To all our new players and parents we hope your experience at Ermington has been pleasant thus far - we are known as the 'family club' and we take great pride in that.
The Ermo DRIBBLE is our electronic way of keeping in touch with our soccer community, so please read it and if need be, pass it on to friends and family.
Ian Garrett is our newsletter editor ,and he has been doing a great job for the club for going on 3 years, keep up the good work Ian.
You will see a number of messages over the coming weeks - from our annual GALA DAY for U8's on SUNDAY (15/5/11) through to social events and important soccer matters - so please stay tuned.
The U8 players will all receive an email about the Gala Day in the coming weeks. It will details what the Gala Day is about and what we need from out club members to help make this day a success.
If you have any issues please bring them to the attention of one of soccer committee members who you will find in the Canteen on a Wednesday night or please don't hesitate to ring me on 0418 436 753.
Can I also ask all players and parents to keep good contact with your coaches and managers , they can answer most questions you have, and if not they will find it out from us.
Also, please make sure that the information they have on your contact details is accurate - phone numbers and email addresses are our way of staying in contact with you, particularly when the weather is inclement.
Enjoy your weekend games and remember - PLAY HARD ,BUT PLAY FAIR.
Yours in Soccer,
Wayne Kelly.

Club Information
|
|
Parramatta Council are in the process of updating their Smoking in Public Places policy. Our club will adhere to this policy and would like to inform our members of the details. The policy states that there should be no smoking within 10m of any structure or childrens sporting field.
Parents are reponsible for the safety and supervision of their children at all times. This means that a parent or responsible adult must be present at training and games.
Wet weather information - on training nights you should call the wet weather line to find out if the grounds have been closed by the council. The number is 9294 8586. The message on this line will list the status all grounds in the Parramatta area so you will have to listen until they give the details of George Kendall Reserve. The message is updated at 3pm each day so please call this number not a committee member as they will just be calling the same number as you.
Wednesday night BBQ - The training night BBQ is a tradition at Ermo. We are asking for volunteers to help provide this much loved service for all our members and their families. If you have some time youor help would be greatly appreciated.
Photos of Children - Over the last couple of years we have been adding photos of our players in action to our newsletter. If you don't want photos of your child published in the newsletter please let us know via email dribble@ermingtonunited.com.au
Special notes for the coaches and managers - Players cards will be provided to managers of teams who are playing at home on Saturday morning. All teams who have away games will be contacted by Su Garrett to arrange collection.
We have a range of training equipment in our store room, including agility ladders and hurdles, for teams to use at training. If you wish to use them please ask at the canteen. If you would like any furher equipment that we do not currently have please let the committee know what you require and we will look into your requests.
We are hosting a round of the ladies competition this sunday. If you have some spare time come down and support our girls!! The times that they are playing are listed below.
Newsletter Subscriptions - I am in the process of adding a newsletter subscription to the front page of the website. Until I get that sorted out there is a link in the left column that will take you to our newsletter info page. On this page is a subscription box that you will add people to our list. If you know anyone that would be interested in receiving the newsletter each week you can point them to our website or send them the link below. I am sure there are plenty of Grandparents that would be keen to see what is happening each week!!!

AAL5 v Winston Hills (Blk) Loss 0-7
Wow, there seemed to be about 20 orange players coming at our goals, this was a baptism of fire. Winston Hills were tough and well drilled. Under the circumstances our team did well keeping the score too single figures, if not for the great effort of our first half goalie Nadia stopping so many attempts. This was a BIG learning curve and I was pleased they kept their heads high and gave their all for the whole game. Two injuries (heat stroke and ball in the face) meant we had no subs for the last 20min. But our strength is our fitness and the last 20min we were attacking their goal with the help of Renai. Good defensive work by centre back Rachel and Peky in goals. All round a good effort by a brand new team.

Once again we find ourselves at the start of a new season of soccer at Ermington United.
As you can appreciate clubs are run on the support of its members and volunteers whether a player, supportive parent, team coaches, team managers, committee members and we thank you all very much for that support.
Another way that we could help support our club is by way of sponsorship. Our Ermington United Sponsorship Opportunities 2011 brochure is available via the link below for you to present to your employer or your own business, in the hope they may be looking to advertise that business locally.
Thanks again for your continued support of the Ermington United Club in the past and in the future and I hope you all have a great soccer season in 2011.
