Downhill From Here is a brand new club. We formed in Janurary this year.
The club was formed due to the lack of downhill mountain bike tracks in South East Queensland and the lack of organisation in other clubs. The club has land interest on a property at the back of Maleny, this land is around 200 acers in size and is very steep ! perfect for downhill mountain biking.
The club has recently finished the first downhill track and we are looking to create more tracks on the property, not only downhill tracks but also all mountain tracks, four cross tracks, dirt jumps, dam jumps, exterme water slides and cross country tracks.
Downhill From Here is looking to builded basic accomodation block to enable camping on the property as well. We have had interest from Kovarik racing who provide downhill mountain bike coaching lessions, this would also enable them to host week long camps for students.
Our primary goal is to propmote the sport of mountain biking and with a focus on Downhill mountain biking in Australia. The club would like to recieve funding to be able to hire 1.5 tonne digger to create more tracks, to buy materials to build dwellings, to buy timing equipment and to be able to do a marketing campain to promote our facilities. We are seeking funds of upto $10,000 to complete these objectives. We can offer great advertising spaces when we are holding events, some of the key locations are underneath our jumps. These jumps rande in size from 40 foot gaps to 10 foot gaps ! all have great advertising space and would provide great photo opportunities !
