Galaxy Softball Newsletter
for Week Ending 20 February 2010
Welcome again to the Galaxy Softball Club newsletter. I know I've been remiss in my duties and haven't done a newsletter for a few weeks, but here we go, back for more.
I won't do a play by play as there's a few weeks worth of games, but I'll definitely do it for the next newsletter. There's only 1 more week of regular games then we're into the playoff rounds. T Ball and U12's are automatically into the playoffs so good luck to the kids. This week I interviewed Carmel for our 'Player Profile'.
T Ball
Another fun week for the kids. Everyone had fun and thankfully there were no sheep stations being played for. Thanks kids, and hope you're enjoying the game :o)
Under 12's
I haven't had a chance to watch the kids since they came back, but believe they have been playing well and having fun. Well done and I hope to catch a full game before the end of the season.
C Grade - Galaxy 2
OK, here's the scores for the games for the last few weeks
Our first game on Saturday 6 Feb was against Eagles 3. It was a close game all the way through and after the score reverted in the last dig, Eagles defeated us 10-14.
After a short break, we then played PCYC Gold. The last innings saw us coming back, however, we ran our of time and lost 8-12.
I wasn't able to stay for the game last Saturday, 20 Feb, so can't comment on how the plays went, however, from the scorebook, it looks like it was a close game with Lakers only taking it in the final innings. Score was 5-14.
Two more games this weekend and then the semi's. Best of luck ladies :o)
B Grade - Galaxy 1
On 6 Feb we played Outlaws 1 and defeated them 14-8.
Two games were played on Saturday 20 Feb. The first was against Outlaws again and we defeated them 14-4, the umpire calling the game early due to the mercy rule.
We then played Tat 2 and they mercied us 14-2 in the 3rd innings....karma maybe??? hehehe. Not to worry ladies, there's always next week.
