Presidents Report:
Hello and welcome to another season of football at La Trobe University. With a new season comes many changes and new directions in this ever evolving club. After the success of 2010, the club sets off again with new challenges on the field in Division 2 and with new developments off the field including a newly structured committee, coaching staff and sponsors. I would like to thank everyone involved in the club for their efforts in preparing for the 2011 season and look forward to working with everyone throughout the year ahead.
In starting a new chapter at La Trobe, its nice to reflect on where we’ve been and who has got us where we are today. I would like to thank Terry Ludeman and Dean Sheldrick for their tireless work over the last 4 seasons, with their respective captain and coach roles bringing the club 2 senior premierships and returning us to the Division 2 category. I would also like to congratulate Dean and Tracy on the birth of Rosie Sheldrick, lets just call it 3 out of 3 for you Dean! We also look forward to the arrival of Terry and Maries bundle of joy in the next few weeks, we wish you the all best. I would also like to wish Steven Adamthwaite and Eve West all the best with their future together after recently joining in marriage, congratulations.
Looking forward to the 2011 season I would like to welcome Dan Winkel to the Club as Senior coach. Dan has had experience at many levels as a player and coach and has already developed a strong relationship with the playing group. We look forward to the contributions his experience and perspective bring to Latrobe. I would also like to welcome Stuart Patten as our new Women’s team coach. Stuart has been a member of the senior’s 2009 and 2010 premiership sides and is highly motivated to continue the girls development and push for their first grand final appearance. Thankyou to Martin (Bones) de Bono for his work with the girls team in their first two seasons. Its always a difficult role being involved in the inaugural seasons of a new team and I believe Martin’s passion and dedication has helped our girls immensely.
My final recognition must go to my predecessor Brad Van Ooi. His contribution to the club over his seven years to date has been unmeasurable. His leadership and determination has helped position the club to its current successful state. It has made the life of the incumbent president a very smooth journey to date.
With the season set to start in under a month on the 9th of April, I would like to welcome everyone to come and support the club on its 2011 endeavours. A special mention of our Round four game on May 7th which is the La Trobe University Family, Friends and Flag Raising Day. Mark down the date and keep an eye out in the coming weeks for flyers with information about the day.
Evolution is a sign of strength, it allows us to gain knowledge from past experience and provides opportunities for further growth. Without it, we would merely exist, with it we can flourish with new opportunities, new challenges and new faces. As La Trobe University Football Club continues to evolve I welcome you all to step forward and be at the forefront of evolution, rather than in the back ground of existence.
2011…The year of the Trober

Sponsorship Opportunities
We aim to develop a family based club that provides an opportunity for young men and women to become a part of an environment fostering comradeship, leadership and maturity whilst playing ‘the greatest of Australian sports’.
As you would appreciate, the running of an Amateur Football Club requires:
-
A team of committed coaches and players
-
Qualified medical staff
-
An extensive group of support personnel
-
A hardworking committee
-
Significant time
-
Substantial funds
-
Player incentives
-
Constant improvement of facilities and training equipment
Financial support from the University has long been subject to constraints, including the abolition of Voluntary Student Unionism several years ago, yet the costs of running the club have kept increasing. As such, we have to seek alternative sources of funding to ensure the continued success of the football club.
It is with this in mind that I ask you to consider the following offers to become a club and player sponsor for the 2011 season to help build on the recent successes of the club.
If you have any queries in relation to the packages below, or wish to discuss alternative arrangements, please do not hesitate to contact club president, David McMaster on 0430 144 634 to discuss sponsorship options.
