Winning Way Continues
The men continued their winning ways on the weekend taking the male teams to a 17-0 record. The Women were competitive against one of the top sides and keep improving week to week.
We have another blockbuster round this Saturday with the Under 19s meeting for a 1st vs 3rd clash.

The Federal Budget & Sport
Last week the Fedaral Budget included some interesting things about sport funding and what they call the "development pathway".
Whatever spin they put on it it seems there will be an increase in sport funding although the numbers are unclear, they like to make you think it is bigger thanit reall is, and you can read the full press release below. Some things include:
Requiring AIS scholarship holders to volunteer at local community sporting clubs, it's hardly volunteering but still a nice idea.
Re-aligning the state and federal sporting academies.

Lest We Forget - Anzac Day Weekend
Lest We Forget
La Trobe University and Elsternwick Football Clubs paid tribute to Australian Service men and women past and present over the ANZAC weekend.
Just prior to the senior game Phil Pierce a committee member from the Watsonia RSL read the Ode to the Fallen, as umpires, supporters and the Senior and reserve players from both teams looked on.
