From the PRESIDENT
Welcome to the 2010 season, where there will be a few
changes, after last year’s introduction to the small sided games for the U/6: this
year will see the U/7 play 4 a side on the same size field as the U/6, and the
U/8 will be playing 7 a side on a 30X50m field.
This year will see the introduction of new ID cards, and all
coaches and managers will have a card as well , they will have to wear them
instead of the match official tags from previous years.
On an important matter, all competitive age groups(U/10 to
over 35)will have to set up the fields, put the nets up and corner flags if
they are the first team on that field on the day, for instance all 8.30am
games, and some 1.00pm games where there are no games in the morning. The last
teams to play on the day, the 3.00pm games will have to take the nets and
corner flags down. Not doing this will see the teams have competition points
deducted!
On more exciting news, we should have the new lights at Abbott Rd ready by
the end of May, and a few weeks later we will see the Socceroos in the world
cup in South Africa!
I wish all teams, all the fun Football has to offer.
Ludo Ledieu.
From the COMPETITION SECRETARY
Hi everyone. Well the season is almost upon us once again. I would like to welcome all our new and renewing players. There will be a Coaches and Managers night coming up soon (check website for details) at which we will present a lot of information on the upcoming season, please try to make it.
Regarding the draw, generally, I will receive the first few rounds week by week as the MWFA sorts out any problems. Then the full season draw will arrive. As each update comes in, I will pass it to the age co-ordinators, who will pass it to the managers, who will be responsible for passing it on to their teams. I will also post the full season draw and any weekly amendments to the website. Please make sure to check the amendments first! If your team is not there, then revert to the master draw. Any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask someone else! Only kidding, I look forward to meeting you and wish you a great season. Good luck, and above all, have fun!
