PRESIDENT's Report
(The following is the President's Report tabled at our 3rd Annual AGM on the 16th of June 2009)
Welcome to Rouse Hill Rams Cricket Club’s 3rd Annual General meeting. It is with great pride I report another “Bumper” year for the Club with many highlights, some of which I’ll touch on tonight.
Again the playing numbers grew as we fielded 17 teams (10 juniors and 7 seniors) – this was up 3 teams from last year. We also operated a very successful In2Cricket program under Michael Ashby down at Kellyville every Friday night. In our 3 years we have grown an amazing 150% from 120 players in our first year to a massive 300 players this year – something we can all be proud of.
Again we experienced great success on the field with 10 teams making the Semis, 5 teams the final and 2 premiers (our B13 & B14s). While off the field we built on successes from the past with the Ford ranger Bus Trip another great day and the Super 8s having a record turn out. One of the highlights for the club was The Community Sports Night at the Fiddler where we raised much needed funds in a great social and community environment – special thanks to the Fiddler for putting on the function.
Another pleasing aspect of the season was the blossoming relationship with the Northwest Hurricanes who helped us out greatly with our Junior Development programme (players and coaches). A special thanks goes to Scott from the Hurricanes whose energy and effort made the association the great success it was.
To put an exclamation mark on this Fantastic Season were our Junior & Senior presentations which both had great crowds and went off like clockwork. Special thanks to the Castle Hill RSL for donating the venue for the Junior Preso and also Nathan Marlin for organising the Senior Preso.
A club like ours does not operate without the help of many people so I would like to thank all of our coaches, managers, captains, scorers and helpers who get us on the park each week.
Another special group is our sponsors who without it would be much harder running a club like ours.
Finally I am looking forward to the 09/10 season as we take this great club to new heights.
