Through film-making, digital photography, online safety and youth action workshops, young people who are experiencing or who are at risk of social, economic or cultural marginalisation: learn new skills, connect with their peers, tell their stories and those of their community in their own voice, and link into vital health and community services in a supportive environment - factors found to have a significant impact on mental health and wellbeing (WHO, 2005) |

Celebrating our Desire to Serve Globally
As everyone knows Tuesday’s meeting is defined as Consular Day which is traditionally held as close to the 23rd February as possible, because it celebrates the very first meeting of Rotary convened by Paul Harris.
Obviously Rotary as we know is a Global organisation and this day brings together different countries and backgrounds for the fellowship of Rotary.
Rotary is the largest non-religious organisation in the world with 1.2 million member’s world wide and with some 32,000 clubs across the globe.
This makes us truly international and helps us as a club to realises that we are part of an amazing organisation who has been able to achieve some amazing results on projects that have governments to call on organisations such as Rotary to help solve problems in the community.
Non-Government Organisations are the future of our communities in terms of resolution to problems whether it is to deal with poverty, education or health. These all require community involvement and Rotary is there supporting and contribution to making this world a better place.
Rotary cannot do this with out the dedication of our members and supporters that have allowed these projects to proceed. Whether it is the President’s projects, water or educational projects that our club has supported, we have in many instances lead the way.
We are happy to share our experience expertise and our passions to make this world a better place.
What better way to celebrate humanity and our efforts with a Consular Day and have representatives of different countries at our meeting to share in this celebration.
Please join us and enjoy what should be a memorable day.
See you Tuesday.

Hosting a Rotary Exchange Student
|
| Rotary District 9750 has as one of its greatest achievements the Youth Exchange Program with a hard working committee headed by the Chairman PP Paul Ward Harvey.
Our students exchange to countries such as Austria, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Switzerland and Sweden.
Hosting a student is a most rewarding experience and the people we normally seek are Rotarians, however we would like non Rotarians to participate in this program.
|
Many Rotarians have friends or neighbors who would be ideal hosting families; we should actively look for people outside of Rotary.
The non Rotarians will be guided through the process of hosting so they will be quite confident prior to the arrival of the student what is expected of both the student and the family. The student has a District Counsellor and a Rotary Club Counsellor who assists the families in the day to day activities of the exchange student.
So Rotarians get out there and pass the word we need more Host Families.
