Through film-making, digital photography, online safety and youth action workshops, young people who are experiencing or who are at risk of social, economic or cultural marginalisation: learn new skills, connect with their peers, tell their stories and those of their community in their own voice, and link into vital health and community services in a supportive environment - factors found to have a significant impact on mental health and wellbeing (WHO, 2005) |

Leaders don't always have to stand out in front to lead.
This sums up our speaker this week. Our own member Chris McDiven. Chris is an outstanding example of a true Leader in our club and the community.
I am continually amazed at the challenges that leaders face in our world today. We as leaders are always looking for better ways to lead and inspire our followers.
In our business, in our community, in our own families - we are always seeking to improve and educate to become better leaders and better citizens in a world that has so many contradictions.
Yet a world that can create some wonderful outcomes for people less fortunate than ourselves.
Those who serve the community at times can find it a thankless task, and it is only when an event or an acknowledgement by your network makes you feel ‘well that was worthwhile’.
How ever strong and confident you are as a leader there is always self doubt and it is a matter of lifting yourself up in times of adversity to achieve the goals you set yourself and your organisation.
Winston Churchill, defined success as the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm. This is so apt when it comes to politics and community service, because the measures are so much driven by expectations of others and it is up to strong and confident leadership that will achieve extra ordinary outcomes.
Our members are leaders in the community and have the will and persistence to be a success in their chosen field of profession and in ensuring the club survives.
THE CLUB NEEDS YOUR LEADERSHIP IN:
1. GROWING OUR MEMBERSHIP,
2. SELLING THE REMAINING ART UNION TICKETS, AND
3. IDENTIFYING OTHER FUND RAISING IDEAS FOR THE CLUB.
IF YOU DO NOT PARTICIPATE WHO WILL?
IT IS UP TO YOU ENSURE THE VIALBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY OF YOUR CLUB?
PLEASE LET’S ALL ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY AND PITCH IN; WE ONLY HAVE ONE OPPORTUNITY.
LET US ALL ACT NOW
See you Tuesday

About Group Study Exchange (GSE)
The Rotary Foundation’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for businesspeople and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas. |
We need your help with group leadership and other areas in relation to incoming and outgoing Group Study Exchanges. Please contact Ian Conley or President Garry Browne.
