Collaboration of Rotarians who Share the Spirit delivers amazing outcomes.
As we move further into the new fiscal year and leave the events of the last week with APEC behind us, we start focusing on issues that are important to our well being as a country and community.
All our dealings as Rotarians involve collaborating with each other and with organisations whose goals and objects are focused in a certain direction.
District Conference
We have to be flexible and adaptable to ensure we can help those recipients deliver on their goals and objectives. That is our challenge and also our desire as Rotarians and with the District conference upon us I have seen an extremely different perspective emerging when organising the cocktail evening for the first night of the conference.
Dedicated Band of Rotarians
As you are probably aware there are a dedicated band of Rotarians who are members of other clubs who are prepared to spend inordinate amounts of time assisting in organising the District conference.
Whilst I have had exposure prior to being President, I am far more exposed to the inner workings and the collaboration required in making sure this event happens. Each and everyone are to be congratulated and acknowledged.
We often look at district and say ‘why is it there?’ I would suggest that it is a perfect opportunity for clubs to engage and collaborate and Rotarians to meet up with others and continue ‘share the spirit and pride of being a Rotarian’.
Positive Attendance
Our club will have approximately 10% of memberships attending which is a credible representation.
80th Anniversary of the First District
I would like to thank all those members who have chosen to support the club at the conference and all those who have assisted to making our involvement meaningful and memorable. Remember this is the 80th Year anniversary of the establishment of the First Rotary District in Australia.
Amazing Outcomes
We, The Rotary Club of Sydney collaborated and help establish the first Rotary district in Australia. The collaboration of Rotarian 80 years ago enabled them to ‘share the spirit and pride of being a Rotarians’ which as we know delivered amazing outcomes for the Global community and Rotary International.
