| A four goal haul from the St Michaels Team was the highlight of the second round of the Round Robin action in the KDSA 2R competition.
The pre game preparation was exemplary with many discussions of last weeks award ceremony ringing loudly in the ears of the winners who i might add were all backs.
Controversy rang in many players minds who had filled in the 3 2 1 rankings each week. Special mention should go to ROHIT who i don't think received a vote as no one new how to spell his name. The Surnames of these supposed fine players in our midst are as follows and i have done some very detailed and extensive research on the history of these players and discovered that all three have been on charges for bribery and corruption.
You make up your own mind!
MIDDO is also furious as he firmly believes all own goals should be attributed to him. Hill English and Scottish: extremely common and widely distributed topographic name for someone who lived on or by a hill, Middle English hill (Old English hyll). Originated from Reginald Hill notorious outlaw imprisoned for Bribery and corruption
Baker English: occupational name, from Middle English bakere, Old English bæcere, a derivative of bacan ‘to bake’. It may have been used for someone whose special task in the kitchen of a great house or castle was the baking of bread, but since most humbler households did their own baking in the Middle Ages, it may also have referred to the owner of a communal oven used by the whole village. The right to be in charge of this and exact money or loaves in return for its use was in many parts of the country a hereditary feudal privilege. Originated from Augustus Baker reportedly in cohorts with one Reginald Hill and Lionel Smith. Imprisoned for three counts of bribery and corruption.
Smith English: occupational name for a worker in metal, from Middle English smith (Old English smið, probably a derivative of smitan ‘to strike, hammer’). Metal-working was one of the earliest occupations for which specialist skills were required, and its importance ensured that this term and its equivalents were perhaps the most widespread of all occupational surnames in Europe. Medieval smiths were important not only in making horseshoes, plowshares, and other domestic articles, but above all for their skill in forging swords, other weapons, and armor. Originating from Lionel Smith once an Aristocrat he turned to crime for self benefit and was also charged with 5 counts of bribery.
There may be some controversy however with a recount called for on the name Smith. The midfielders have objected and called for a recount.
Decision Pending.
The preamble continued with some encouraging words from Scott and Mark B.
Then Rick( St Michaels No.1 REF. Sorry Middo) gathered the troops from both teams for his endearing comments. The words were in essence "Don't Phuck with me!!!!!!!!! "
Berowra's whining began before the whistle blew when No 13 complained about the state of the pitch to Jock and myself and even commented that such a wealthy club and expensive location should be able to provide better pitches than we were about to play on.
The whistle blew and St Michaels were on fire with great passing from the back to the front. With attacking raid after attacking raid. We hit the post on numerous occasions and the Berowra goalkeeper was at his best to keep out 5 shots on goal.

Steve came through the middle and with a superbly timed header hit the side post. As we stood in disbelief again that we still hadn't converted a goal.
Moments later a fine through ball to Middo saw him play with the defence and suck the keeper in before placing the ball into the side of the net for the opening goal.
Berowra were getting tired by this stage after continued pressure from our backs not allowing them to even get a decent shot on goal whilst at the other end we needed to fine tune our radar and convert these attempts into goals.
Before we new it Berowra had scored an equaliser after Mark B suffered a dislocated finger. We all believed Berowra were kicking the ball out however the ball was kicked forward and the striker chipped the ball past Mark S for the equalising goal. Moral to the story always play to the refs whistle.
We went into half time 1 all.
Scott laid down the law at half time.
We new we were the better team but we were not converting our chances.
The second half commenced at a snails pace for the first 5 to 10 mins.
Berowra had a chance to go 2 -1 up.
Mark S made a heroic save and the words of our midfielders rang in our ears that 'this was our let off.'
From here on in the ball movement across the ground began with Hughsie, Smith S, Bowdy, Jock, Bisho and Rohit working tirelessly in attack and defence.
The back 5 of Dom( DOC have you invoiced MarkB ?) Wayne ( Hammy) Baker and Smith( the Crooks) and Mark B not allowing any future raids from the berowra forward line.
Some of the ball work was the best this season with once again pin point accuracy from Bowdy Jock Rohit just to name a few. Hughsie worked tirelessly end to end.
The shot of the day must go to Middo with his blistering shot at goal which ricocheted of my head into the goal.
Great shot Middo.
The fourth and final goal was from our fearless leader Scott who was playing under duress as his son had been rushed to hospital in a Ambulance after collecting a head injury whilst playing rugby.
Scott was very concerned before kick-off. I wont write what he said as his wife may read this article.
The 4-1 scoreline was flattering to Berowra but still a great display by the St Michaels side.
Celebrations commenced with the BBQ being rolled out and the beers flowing.
Sausages Beers and ROHIT Lamb Chops were all the go.
A great day had by all.
There is one thing we being baker and i should bring to
your attention is that we have been in heavy negotiations with a player who is looking for a transfer to this team.
Baker did have dinner with this player and a transfer was discussed.
Position Keeper
Name Anthony Lapalia or however you spell it.
Mark S how do you feel about this?????
Your input would be greatly appreciated as you have been an integral part of the team and us as newcomers don't want to tread on any ones toes. Only joking Mark! Cheap shot!!!
As a newcomer to this team i would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for accepting both Paul b and myself into your close knit team.
We are thoroughly enjoying ourselves and we look forward to playing each week with you. This was something that was desperately lacking at Lindfield.
Thanks.
Cheers
Blake
