Local Derby ends in Penalties
Rangers Through on Forfeit
Sharp shooting and some great saves were enough to advance the Riverview #1 team to their first Div 2 Pennant playoff in the St Ignatius College O35 Summer Soccer semi finals this week. A 4-3 penalty shootout was a thrilling conclusion for the unlucky Riverview #2 team.
A last minute withdrawal by the 360s has setup a Cup final between the LCSC #1 team and the top finishing Rangers team.
The LCSC team outclassed their opponents, David FC, team with two unanswered goals.
The Greenwich team rebounded this week with a lucky 1-0 win to meet the Mixed Bag team in the Div 2 Plate Final next week. The Div 2 Plate Final is anticipated to be the match of the round with the Mixed Bag team showing late season form.
The final matchup will involve the Northbridge Tigers who after taking the wooden spoon last week now have an opportunity to win the Div. 1 Pennant although the St Michaels #1 team will likely take it out with an easy win.
All players, families and friends are invited to attend the final this week where drinks and a BBQ will be on sale with the proceeds donated to charity.
