Hi everyone
After out monthly committee meeting this week there are lots of things to let everyone know about.
Uniforms - All those who are now registered should be in uniform as soon as possible. This includes numbers, IGA patches (top right) and age patches (bottom left). UNiforms are on sale each week at the club house if you don't have one yet.
Friday night officials - We are short of a few key officials this year. Our regular Starter from last year has not returned and we are looking for someone to fill Ed's shoes this year. If you are interested please let one of the committee members know before we start on Friday night. Te are a raft of other jobs that we would like help with such as timers and results recorders. They are not difficult jobs and the more people we have the smoother the program will run.
Officials Course - Our ZonUpcoming Eventse is running an officials course for the jumps and throws on 15th Oct. If you would like to learn more about these events the course is fee and will be run at the Holroyd club that afternoon. Once again let someone from the committee know if you are interested.
Age Manager Instruction night - As there are lost of new people helping out the age groups we are looking to have an age manage instruction night. A date has not been finalised as yet and we are looking to get some expressions of interest before we commit . Another one for you to talk to the committee about.
Track etiquitte - Friday nights are very busy and everybody needs to be aware of what is going on around them. Before you cross any competition area, circular track, long jump run ups, High Jump area or the throws area make sure you look to see what is happenine. There have been a few near misses already and we don't want to see one of the tots or younger siblings cleaned up by a senior athlete.
Point Score System- For all you newbies you will be unaware of the points score system that runs through out the season. All events are score based on participation and improvement across the season. If you miss out on events during the night you will be missing out on points towards the end of season awards.
