Hi everyone
We are now half way through our season and it is time for a well deserved rest for everybody.
This weekend is our last night for the year and it is our annual christmas\breakup party. For those who are new to Tiger Wests, you will need to bring a plate of something to share with everybody and you will need to supply your own drinks. There will be on BBQ on so we can give our wonderful Canteen managers, Bob & Anne, a much earned break.
The weather over the past few weeks has been pretty ordinary but our party night will be on even if it is raining as we will just hold our party under the shelter at the club.
For all those people who have ordered Lollies and\or Slices through our fundraising drive, they will be available to pick up on Friday night. You will need to make sure that you are there as you will not be able to pick them up until the season starts again after the Christmas Break
Zone Championships
On the weekend the Zone Championships were held at Holroyd Sports Ground. The rain held out for the majority of the weekend, except for just before the last couple of events on Sunday. We had a great turn out and all our kids put in a mighty effort.
After the wrap up of the carnival we had 23 people qualify through to regional Championships which will be held at Bankstown on 17/18/19 Feb. Amungst those 23 kids they will be competing in 52 events which is a mighty effort from our little and big Tigers!!
I would like to thank all the parents and committee members who helped across the weekend with all our duties. A special note for a few people, Di for making sure that all our kids made it to their events, Col for sitting on the judging stand all weekend( I am sure that he does this just so he doesn't have to deal with the kids all weekend!!) all our early starters and late finishers who set up and pulled down our equipment.
The committee would like to send a big thank you to our Danish friends, who left our sometimes sunny shores this morning, Marie, Mads, Henrik & Kristen. We have really enjoyed having this wonderful family as part of our club for the first half of the 2011\12 season. We wish them all the best on there return home to Denmark and hbope that we can all keep in touch and hopefully some of us Aussies can make a reciprical visit to Denmark in the near future. Plans are already afoot to set up a relationship between our club and the club that the Munksgaards are members of in Denmark.
New Uniforms
We now have caps and bucket hats available to purchase. They are both $15 and will be great for all those carnivals after christmas. If you are interested, Jaquie will have them for sale on Friday nights.
Last but not lest for this newsletter, the committee would like to wish everybody a wonderful Christmas and hope that you comeback in the new year ready for a happy health 2012.
All the best
The Tiger Wests Committee
