"The Family Club" - Parkwood Sharks offer rugby league opportunities for both boys and girls 6-17 years of age, as well as, senior teams competing in A grade, Reserves and Under 19's.
The club has existed in a number of forms since its inception in 1976 and has grown in numbers with over 300 players last year, as the area around it expands in population at a rapid rate. As our numbers grow, so too does the need to provide facilities and equipment. Sponsorship will help the club to continue to grow this decade with a focus on becoming the club of choice for families on the mid-north end of the Gold Coast. Our goal in the next 12-24 months is to raise enough funds to build a structure for time keeping, recording of senior games, equipment storage and spectator seating. The club would be open to promotional opportunties for sponsors that could assist in making this project a reality.
An upgrade to the field lighting and lighting at the entrance and along the drive to the club would also be on the club's "wish list".
2010 finds new committee members that see the potential for growth and opportunities at the club, particularly with many talented young players in its ranks. The club's under 15's side were the grand final winners in 2009 and a number of players represented at district and state level. We would also like to find sponsorship for these talented rep players to ease the financial burdon on their working class families.
