In 1999 a group of fathers from Lane Cove in Sydney, formed a Football team as a method of re-igniting a regular routine of exercise and also to create a forum where fathers in the area could meet and get to know one another.

By co-incidence Football in Sydney began to experience a growth in numbers and the return of veterans to the game via the expansion of an O35’s competition.

So successful has been the combination of these two events that STMFC now has six teams, with 100+ active members competing in the KDSA Football Competition.

There has also been  success on the field for STMFC, with teams participating in O35 Div 1,2,3,4 & 5 over the years, including grand final appearances in Div 2, 2(Reserves) and 3.

The formula has been simple, train hard, play to enjoy the game and most importantly share a well earned drink with your mates after the game.

Families in the area have also noticed a change, highlighted by a reduction in the average waist-size of their dads and an increase in the knowledge of Football by a growing supporter base (wives/partners and children), who turnout to watch their heroes from time-to-time!
