The UNSW Women's Football Squad have a strong reputation for being solid contenders at each year's Australian University Games. We have consistently been in medal contention for several years running at these championships.
This year's championships, however, the 2010 Australian University Games, are due to be held at Perth from September 26th to October 1st. The significant increase in distance thus makes the expense of the games alot higher for the girls, with flights costing in excess of $600 per player alone. As a result, this cost is discouraging many of our younger key players from attending, making it difficult for our girls to put together a squad at this year's games, let alone uphold our reputation as being strong contenders.
Any form of sponsorship in any amount would be greatly appreciated, however a sponsorship of more than $1500 would be of the greatest help to our girls, as we aim to get together a team of at least 14 players and would need somewhere near this amount to significantly reduce the cost enough to re-encourage our girls to attend.
